About Us

 SLM Appraisals is a full service personal property appraisal firm, assisting clients with the appraisal, liquidation and resale of items inside the home. No matter the reason for the appraisal, we realize it is a very personal matter and can often be an emotionally stressful time. We understand this, and pride ourselves on treating each and every client individually, and approaching each situation with sensitivity and discretion.

Principal Sheri Mason holds a Certificate in Fine and Decorative Art Appraisal from NYU, is USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice) compliant through June 2026, and is a Member the Appraisers Association of America (AAA) 

Sheri was involved in the family antiques business starting in her teens. She opened the New York office for Kaminski Auctions, was the principal appraiser, as well as a key member of the team selected by Oprah when she decided to downsize and sell the "Oprah Winfrey Collection." 

She is an Instructor for the AAA Comprehensive Appraisal Studies Program (CASP) and frequent lecturer. Her standing Monday 4-6 PM appointment is Tutor for a 6th grader!
